As part of the activities of the First Hackathon for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Political Forum of Hadhramout University students organized a scientific seminar entitled \u201cThe Legal Framework for Combating Money Laundering.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In the opening session, Prof. Dr. Salem Mohammed bin Salman, Assistant Vice President of Hadhramout University for Student Affairs, welcomed the participants, noting that the seminar reflects the University\u2019s commitment to raising awareness of the importance of combating money laundering and its impact on the national economy. He expressed appreciation to the contributors for their efforts in addressing this critical issue and hoped that the seminar would enhance students\u2019 understanding of the legal framework for combating money laundering and encourage their future participation in national efforts against this crime.<\/p>\n

The seminar addressed four main themes:The Concept of Money Laundering, Its Stages, and the Position of Islamic Law, Money Laundering in Yemeni Law and Its Distinction from Corruption and Terrorism Financing, Money Laundering and Procedures of Investigation and Inquiry, and Regulatory Measures for Monitoring and Tracing Money Laundering Crimes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

These topics were presented by Judge Muslim bin Sumaydah and Lawyer Sami Al-Amoudi, who discussed the legal framework for combating money laundering, shared international experiences, and highlighted mechanisms of international cooperation in addressing this crime.<\/p>\n

The seminar aimed to shed light on the significance of combating money laundering and its detrimental effects on the national economy, emphasizing that money laundering involves transforming illicit funds into seemingly legitimate assets, thereby undermining economic stability and threatening social security.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that this seminar is part of the activities of the Political Forum of Hadhramout University students, designed to raise awareness of the importance of combating money laundering and to encourage students to actively contribute to national efforts in addressing this crime.<\/p>\n
