This Thursday morning, Hadhramout University concluded its \u201cAcademic Development Week,\u201d held under the theme \u201cTowards Excellence, Quality, and Building an Advanced Knowledge Society,\u201d with significant attendance and wide engagement crowning a week rich in scientific sessions and constructive workshops aimed at driving institutional and academic development.<\/p>\n
The closing scientific session, attended by University President Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khanbash, several vice presidents, faculty deans, faculty secretaries, directors, and specialists, was chaired by the University\u2019s Secretary-General Mr. Abdullah Eideed. It focused on \u201cJob Description Framework for Hadhramout University,\u201d presented by researcher Dr. Salem Ahmed Bawadi, targeting faculty secretaries and general directors.<\/p>\n
The session discussed the objectives of the comprehensive plan to update job descriptions at the University, including revising titles and responsibilities, filling gaps in the current guide, and restructuring descriptions to align with quality standards and the University\u2019s strategic plan strengthening administrative performance to support academic and research transformation.<\/p>\n

The guide aims to establish an integrated advisory system to reduce dropout rates, improve student performance, and enhance their sense of belonging to the academic environment. It defines a clear organizational structure for advising and covers three main dimensions: academic (study planning), psychological (addressing anxiety), and social (developing communication skills), with practical mechanisms including semester and annual plans and digital platforms aligned with the University\u2019s vision for digital advisory services.<\/p>\n
Ambitious Vision:<\/p>\n
The week began with an address by University President Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khanbash, highlighting the richness of the program and the University\u2019s commitment to maintaining and improving its position in international rankings such as QS. His paper, \u201cFuture Vision,\u201d revealed aspirations to rank among the world\u2019s top 100 universities, advance digital transformation, and realistically address financial and political challenges.<\/p>\n
Specialized workshops tackled updating academic regulations, improving QS ranking, preparing the \u201cLearning Outcomes Assessment Guide\u201d as a new evaluation methodology, and developing graduate specifications to align with labor market needs.<\/p>\n
