Hadhramout University convened today the Second Annual Alumni Forum in the Ali Ahmad Bakathir Hall at the University Presidency, in the presence of the President of Hadhramout University, Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash; the Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Salem Al-Obathani; the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Salem Bamsoud; the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Salem Salman; and the University\u2019s Secretary-General, Mr Abdullah Aideed.<\/p>\n

During the opening session\u2014which commenced with recitations from the Holy Qur\u2019an\u2014the University President welcomed attendees to the Second Annual Alumni Forum. He highlighted the most significant achievements that distinguish Hadhramout University from other Yemeni universities. He pointed out that the University Presidency is committed to providing an enabling environment that sustains the educational process, improves the quality of education, advances scientific research, and elevates the University\u2019s national, regional, and global rankings.<\/p>\n

He emphasised the university\u2019s continual dedication to developing well-rounded graduates by organising and supporting diverse student activities that aim to nurture talents and creativity. He noted that the University annually organises Quality Week, Scientific Research Week, Community Service Week, and Student Week. He added that Hadhramout University graduates have set exemplary standards as many continued their postgraduate studies around the world, often outperforming their peers in international universities.<\/p>\n

The University President concluded his remarks by expressing gratitude to the Hadhramout Foundation for Human Development and its Chairman, Engineer Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, for their financial support and participation, as well as to everyone who contributed to the success of the Second Annual Alumni Forum.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Executive Director of the Hadhramout Foundation for Human Development, Engineer Tareq Balkhashar, stated that the foundation takes pride in its partnership with Hadhramout University, given its role in graduating qualified cadres and leaders locally and internationally. He affirmed that there are many notable success stories among the University\u2019s graduates, both within Yemen and abroad. Balkhashar also thanked the University leadership for their efforts in serving the university and its students, noting their sincere affiliation with this academic institution.<\/p>\n

In the alumni address, media professional Abdullah Khalid Moqaidhan stated that the gathering reaffirms the commitment and responsibility shared among graduates, underscoring that knowledge and loyalty to the University remain guiding principles. He added that their time at Hadhramout University taught them that knowledge is not a luxury but a responsibility, and not an end but a path to new beginnings. He expressed deep appreciation to the University\u2019s faculty, describing them as role models and guiding lights. He affirmed that graduates now stand at the threshold of responsibility, as the homeland awaits their contributions and service. He concluded by extending his gratitude to the University and praying for its continued success.<\/p>\n

Following the formal program, a series of dialogue sessions was held with several alumni from within Yemen and abroad, moderated by media professional Abdullah Moqaidhan. The alumni shared with attendees their academic and professional journeys, how they obtained employment opportunities, their career progression in both public and private sectors, and their experiences in establishing service and development projects.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by college deans and their deputies, several faculty members and their assistants and a large number of university students.<\/p>\n
