Hadhramout University has announced the launch of a new and advanced phase in its scientific research trajectory during the regular meeting of the Joint Research Projects Committee, held yesterday under the chairmanship of the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khanbash.<\/div>\n
At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Khanbash affirmed that the university is steadily advancing toward consolidating a culture of research and innovation. He emphasized that the upcoming phase represents a significant qualitative shift that requires collective effort to strengthen scientific research and position the university as an effective platform for knowledge production and community service.<\/div>\n
He noted that the introduction of internally funded research grants constitutes a strategic investment in academic capacity, aimed at supporting high-quality research and enhancing publication in internationally recognized journals.<\/div>\n
During the meeting, the committee announced plans to launch several internally funded research grants targeting both applied and humanities-based projects across various disciplines. This initiative aims to stimulate publication in globally indexed journals and encourage interdisciplinary research that addresses developmental and economic challenges. The committee also underscored its commitment to adopting transparent and competitive evaluation criteria to ensure the quality and impact of research outputs.<\/div>\n
The meeting also reviewed the progress of joint research projects conducted in collaboration with Universitas Airlangga and Universiti Teknologi Brunei. Performance reports and key achievement indicators were presented, including outcomes related to joint scientific publications. The committee commended the progress achieved and called for accelerating implementation and maximizing the benefits of these partnerships in capacity building and knowledge transfer.<\/div>\n
Discussions further emphasized the importance of aligning research priorities with national development needs and labor market demands, fostering an enabling research environment grounded in innovation, providing technical and administrative support to researchers, and expanding opportunities for funding and international collaboration.<\/div>\n
At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee recommended the development of a clear implementation plan to monitor research projects, alongside efforts to improve the university\u2019s research ranking and strengthen its position as a leading center for knowledge production and effective scientific partnerships at both regional and international levels.<\/div>\n
