Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khinbash, Hadhramout University President, the final rounds of the Creative Student Awards concluded this morning at the university, featuring competitions in radio presentation and nasheed performance. The event was held as part of the activities of the Fifteenth University Student Week 2026, organized by the university in partnership with the Hadhramout Foundation for Culture.<\/p>\n

The competition witnessed the participation of 110 students representing various faculties of the university, competing across a wide range of creative fields, including Qur\u2019an memorization, Hadith memorization, nasheed, radio presentation, short story writing, Arabic poetry, sculpture, drawing, Arabic calligraphy, short film production, and theatrical scriptwriting.<\/p>\n

The final competitions were held at Ali Ahmed Ba Kathir Hall at the University Presidency, in the presence of the University President, Vice Presidents, the Secretary General, faculty deans, and a large number of faculty members and students. The ceremony featured live performances by the finalists before specialized judging committees in each field.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Dr. Abdulbasit Al Gharabi, Chair of the University Creative Student Awards Committee, explained that the competition aims to discover and nurture student talents, instill values, and strengthen cultural identity. He emphasized the university\u2019s commitment to supporting creativity as an integral component of the educational process. For their part, the judging committees praised the advanced level of performance demonstrated by participants this year and called for expanding the competition in future editions by introducing additional creative categories.<\/p>\n

Several fields recorded notable participation in the final rounds, reflecting the diversity and richness of student talents. The competition forms part of the broader activities of the Fifteenth University Student Week, which includes scientific, cultural, and sports programs designed to highlight students\u2019 abilities and enhance their active engagement in university life.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the winners who achieved the top three positions in each competition category will be honored during the closing and award ceremony of the Fifteenth University Student Week, scheduled for late April, God willing.<\/p>\n
