Hadhramout University celebrated today the graduation of 153 rural female teachers from the Faculty of Education \u2013 Daw\u2019an Branch, as part of the \u201cRural Female Teachers\u201d Bachelor\u2019s Degree Program. The program was implemented with support from the Selah Foundation for Development and the Al-Awn Foundation for Development, and covered the districts of Daw\u2019an, Huraidah, and Wadi Al-Ain.<\/p>\n

In his speech during the graduation ceremony held in Daw\u2019an District, Hadhramout University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, praised the graduates, describing them as \u201cpioneers of change.\u201d<\/em> He emphasized that their choice to pursue teaching in rural areas represents not merely a profession, but a \u201cnoble national mission,\u201d<\/em> despite the patience, wisdom, and initiative required for such a role.<\/p>\n

The University President expressed his sincere appreciation to the Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadhramout, Mr. Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, for sponsoring the ceremony. He also extended his gratitude to Mr. Hassan Salem Al-Jilani, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed, Chairman of the University Council, and all supporting institutions, foremost among them the Selah Foundation for Development, which played a key role in funding the program.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Khanbash noted that this graduation represents an honor for a \u201cdistinguished group of pioneers\u201d<\/em> who will carry the message of enlightenment to rural communities across the plains, valleys, and mountains of Hadhramout. He called for expanding the program to include additional rural districts and for increasing the contribution of development institutions to support similar initiatives.<\/p>\n

He further described the ceremony as more than a celebratory occasion, characterizing it as a tribute to a cadre of \u201cambassadors of change.\u201d<\/em> He expressed confidence that these teachers will contribute to a qualitative transformation in rural girls\u2019 education and help overcome the barriers that have long limited their access to knowledge.<\/p>\n

The ceremony featured a series of speeches, purposeful artistic performances, a visual presentation highlighting the program\u2019s achievements, and the honoring of graduates and supporting organizations.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Babair, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Obthani, Vice President for Student Affairs; Mr. Abdullah Muqbel, Director General of Daw\u2019an District; Mr. Ali Hassan Bashmakh, Executive Director of the Selah Foundation for Development; Dr. Abdullah Bin Othman, Executive Director of the Al-Awn Foundation for Development; and several faculty members.<\/p>\n
