The Department of Journalism and Media at the Faculty of Arts, Hadhramout University, today inaugurated the public discussions of graduation projects for the 13th cohort, titled \u201cTruth 360,\u201d<\/strong> in the presence of distinguished academic, security, and community figures.<\/p>\n

The opening session was attended by the Acting President of Hadhramout University, Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair<\/strong>; Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Prof. Mohammed Awad Barasheed<\/strong>; Media Advisor to the Governor of Hadhramout, Mr. Khaled Ahmed Al-Qahoom<\/strong>; Colonel Salah Al-Mushjari<\/strong>; and First Lieutenant Mohammed Buhayyan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event featured welcoming and introductory remarks delivered by the Head of the Department, Dr. Ahmed Mansour<\/strong>, and a member of the discussion committee, Dr. Adeeb Al-Shatari<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Prof. Abdullah Babair praised the outstanding quality of the students\u2019 projects and their ability to produce professional media content across various formats and disciplines.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the observations presented by the discussion committee were intended solely to refine and further improve the projects, rather than diminish the value of the students\u2019 efforts.<\/p>\n

He also expressed his admiration for the level of creativity and professionalism demonstrated by the students, noting that the University takes pride in witnessing such distinguished academic outcomes.<\/p>\n

During the session, students presented eight high-quality media projects designed to meet the needs of both digital and traditional media markets. The projects received wide praise from the discussion committee.<\/p>\n

The University\u2019s Visual Identity Project<\/strong> received special commendation from Dr. Mohammed Al-Hamdi<\/strong>, who described it as highly professional and comparable to the branding identities of major institutions.<\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Hamdi also praised the digital platform \u201cJuthoor\u201d (Roots)<\/strong>, describing it as an exceptional project whose title perfectly reflects the platform\u2019s content and vision.<\/p>\n

The short film \u201cThe Blue Illusion,\u201d<\/strong> addressing the issue of cyber extortion, impressed both committee members and attendees alike. Colonel Salah Al-Mushjari stressed the importance of addressing such sensitive security and awareness-related issues through media initiatives and productions.<\/p>\n

The Sudanese Podcast<\/strong> earned praise from committee member Dr. Wagdi Bawazeer<\/strong> for its rich historical depth, while Dr. Ahmed Mansour highlighted the exceptional effort of the student who independently completed the project.<\/p>\n

The cultural platform \u201cWadam\u201d<\/strong> also received significant appreciation from Dr. Adeeb Al-Shatari for its focus on preserving the Mehri language and cultural identity.<\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Shatari further noted that the \u201cTadamon Sports Supplement\u201d<\/strong> reflected remarkable effort and successfully documented a memorable chapter in the history of Hadhrami football, making it worthy of recognition and praise.<\/p>\n

In the documentary category, the film documenting the traditional \u201cAl-Maseef\u201d dance<\/strong> received admiration for its production quality and sound engineering. Dr. Doaa Bawazeer<\/strong> praised the project for its contribution to preserving cultural heritage from disappearance and encouraged its creators to continue their creative journey.<\/p>\n

The presentations concluded with a distinguished program titled \u201cMedia Insights,\u201d<\/strong> which included a tribute to one of the founding figures of the Department of Journalism and Media at the Faculty of Arts, the late Ahmed Zain Bahameed<\/strong>. Dr. Doaa Bawazeer remembered him as the department\u2019s spiritual mentor and role model, noting that his passing left a profound impact on colleagues and students alike.<\/p>\n

The first day of discussions concluded in a celebratory atmosphere filled with pride and optimism, reflecting academic aspirations to enrich the media landscape with qualified young professionals capable of advancing the mission and development of media institutions.<\/p>\n
