He also pointed out that the establishment of the center came in response to requests from beekeepers, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships among academics, beekeepers, and supporting institutions.<\/div>\n<div>For his part, Dr. Mohammed Abu Bakr Muqbil, Director of the University Honey Bee Center, stated that the seminar was organized in conjunction with World Bee Day, observed annually on 20 May, and coincided with the reactivation of the center. He explained that the event seeks to raise awareness of the importance of bees as a key indicator of environmental health and ecological balance.<\/div>\n<div>Dr. Muqbil added that the center was established by a decision of the University President as part of the university\u2019s mission in education, scientific research, and community service. He noted that the center aims to build local and international partnerships, exchange expertise, support sustainable projects, preserve the quality of Hadhrami honey, address challenges facing beekeeping, and modernize apiculture practices in line with local environmental conditions.<\/div>\n<div>The seminar included several scientific presentations addressing topics such as \u201cHoney Bees in the Qur\u2019an and the Prophetic Tradition,\u201d \u201cProducts of Honey Bees,\u201d and \u201cThe Role of Honey Bees in Increasing Agricultural Productivity,\u201d followed by discussions and responses from the presenters.<\/div>\n<div>The University Honey Bee Center seeks to conduct specialized research, develop modern beekeeping methods, preserve the reputation of Hadhrami honey, promote awareness of its nutritional, medicinal, and economic value, contribute to protecting and developing bee pastures, encourage the cultivation of sidr trees, and adopt advanced technologies to improve the productivity and sustainability of beekeeping.<\/div>\n<div>The seminar was attended by the Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salem Al-Obathani; the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Salem Bamasoud; the University Secretary-General, Mr. Abdullah Alawi Eided; the Director of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Bahashwan; several faculty deans; a representative of the Office of Agriculture and Irrigation on the Hadhramout Coast, Eng.
