Hadhramout University today concluded the training program for the Preparation and Qualification of External Reviewers for the Evaluation of Higher Education Institutions<\/strong>, organized by the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education<\/strong> in cooperation with Hadhramout University<\/strong> and the Center for Academic Development<\/strong>. The program aimed to promote a culture of quality and prepare academic professionals capable of conducting evaluation processes in accordance with approved national and international standards.<\/p>\n

The closing ceremony was attended by Prof. Abdullah Babair<\/strong>, Vice President of Hadhramout University for Academic Affairs; Prof. Salem Bamasoud<\/strong>, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research; Prof. Abdullah Bahashawan<\/strong>, Director of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance; members of the program team; and a number of academics and specialists.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Prof. Babair thanked all participants for their contributions to the success of the program and conveyed the greetings of the University President, Prof. Mohamed Khanbash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He encouraged participants to transfer the knowledge and skills they acquired during the six-day program to their respective academic institutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of higher education quality.<\/p>\n

In her remarks, Prof. Sawsan Bakhabirah<\/strong>, Chairperson of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council for Higher Education in Yemen, expressed her appreciation to the leadership of Hadhramout University, represented by Prof. Mohamed Khanbash, as well as to the University’s administration and the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, led by Prof. Abdullah Bahashawan and his team, for their efforts in facilitating and successfully organizing the training program.<\/p>\n

She emphasized that the program forms part of the external evaluation and review processes aimed at strengthening confidence in higher education outcomes and supports the establishment of a national pool of qualified experts and reviewers dedicated to advancing educational quality at all levels.<\/p>\n

Prof. Bakhabirah also commended the commitment and efforts demonstrated by both trainers and participants throughout the six-day program, expressing confidence that the competencies developed through the training would contribute significantly to academic development initiatives. She further thanked Hadhramout University for its excellent hosting and organization of the event.<\/p>\n

This course represents the fourth edition of the qualification program series, following three previous courses held in Aden<\/strong> and Taiz<\/strong>. It brought together 45 faculty members<\/strong> and featured an intensive six-day curriculum combining theoretical and practical components. The program covered the fundamentals of quality assurance, external review methodologies, professional report writing, ethical standards, teamwork, time management, and the various stages of the review process, from document review and site visits to the preparation of final evaluation reports.<\/p>\n

The program aims to establish a database of qualified external reviewers to support the Academic Accreditation Council and higher education institutions in their efforts to enhance academic programs and ensure the quality of higher education outcomes.<\/p>\n
