{"id":7360,"date":"2026-09-15T09:11:53","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T06:11:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hu.edu.ye\/en\/?p=7360"},"modified":"2026-09-17T09:20:41","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T06:20:41","slug":"with-funding-from-selah-foundation-11-candidates-compete-for-life-sciences-ph-d-scholarships-at-hadhramout-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hu.edu.ye\/en\/details\/7360\/","title":{"rendered":"With Funding from Selah Foundation, 11 Candidates Compete for Life Sciences Ph.D. Scholarships at Hadhramout University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Mukalla \u2013 University Media (Special Coverage)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">The Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Hadhramout University<\/span><\/strong> conducted personal interviews yesterday for <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">11 male and female applicants<\/span><\/strong> competing for graduate scholarships in the <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Ph.D. Program in Life Sciences<\/span><\/strong> at <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">the Faculty<\/span><\/strong>, funded by the <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Selah Foundation for Development<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">The competition for these doctoral scholarships reflects the University\u2019s commitment to directing graduate studies and scientific research toward topics and issues that contribute to serving society and addressing its priority needs and challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">The interview committee comprised <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Prof. Dr. Salem Faraj Bamasoud<\/span><\/strong>, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research; <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Dr. Fozy Amer Bin Hweel<\/span><\/strong>, Director General of the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies; and <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Dr. Khaled Saleh Bin Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr<\/span><\/strong>, Director General of Scientific Research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">The interviews focused on evaluating applicants\u2019 academic backgrounds, research interests, and proposed research projects, while emphasizing the importance of aligning research topics with societal needs and challenges and promoting studies that can generate tangible benefits for the community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">The scholarship program is part of the strategic partnership between <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Hadhramout University<\/span><\/strong> and the <strong><span style=\"font-family: &#039;Segoe UI&#039;,sans-serif\">Selah Foundation for Development<\/span><\/strong> to support higher education and scientific research.
