Prof. Mohammed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University,<\/strong> affirmed that the university is committed to creating additional opportunities for students and will continue exploring avenues for cultural exchange that provide broader educational and cultural experiences, enabling students to gain direct exposure to the Chinese language and culture.<\/p>\n

His remarks came during a ceremony held today to honor the first cohort of students awarded the President\u2019s Scholarship for the study of Chinese language fundamentals<\/strong>, following the completion of a training program organized by the Institute of Languages at Hadhramout University<\/strong>. The ceremony coincided with the university\u2019s celebrations marking the 70th Anniversary of Yemeni-Chinese Relations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the event, Prof. Khanbash listened to participants\u2019 reflections on their experience studying Chinese and praised their enthusiasm, commitment, and eagerness to benefit from the opportunity. He commended the dedication they demonstrated throughout the training program.<\/p>\n

The President also directed the Institute of Languages<\/strong> and the course instructor to continue offering Chinese language courses and to expand them into more advanced levels. He emphasized that these courses should continue to be provided free of charge, ensuring greater student access and encouraging learners to pursue further study of the Chinese language.<\/p>\n

For his part, Dr. Salem Bin Nashi, Dean of the Institute of Languages<\/strong>, expressed his appreciation for the strong support extended by the University President to the institute and its language programs. He praised the backing given to Chinese language education, noting that it reflects the university leadership\u2019s recognition of the importance of global languages in enhancing students\u2019 skills and opening new academic and cultural horizons.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bin Nashi also commended the commitment displayed by the trainees throughout the course, stating that their active participation and dedication were clear indicators of the initiative\u2019s success and would encourage the institute to further develop and expand its Chinese language programs.<\/p>\n

He added that the continuation and advancement of these programs align with the university\u2019s strategic vision for strengthening foreign language education and equipping students with linguistic and intercultural competencies that enhance opportunities for academic and cultural exchange, while supporting the university\u2019s growing international partnerships and collaborations.<\/p>\n

The Chinese Language Fundamentals Course<\/strong>, organized by the Institute of Languages at Hadhramout University, commenced on 2 September<\/strong> and consisted of 20 training hours<\/strong>. The program enrolled 15 male and female trainees<\/strong> and was conducted under the supervision of Ms. Arwa Barhoum<\/strong>, the course instructor.<\/p>\n
