Third Level students in the Electronic Engineering and Communication Department at the Engineering and Petroleum Faculty visited Al-Rayyan Power Station on Thursday, June 15, 2023. They were received by Eng. Majed Al-Ashwali; the Fire and Life Safety Director.<\/p>\n

The students were divided into two groups, one led by Eng. Ala Baswaqi and the other by Eng. Mubarak Al-Hamdi. They began their tour of the station starting at the Fuel Tanks and Catering Department for Mazot and Diesel Materials. \u00a0They learned about the quality of fuel used to operate the station and its purification and usage mechanisms, and the difference between them.<\/p>\n

Then the students headed to the water desalination facility at the station. They were introduced to the materials and machinery used to purify and desalinate water used in boilers to facilitate its use at low temperatures.<\/p>\n

After that, the students went to the power stations and the general control center for electricity. They learned about the mechanism of electricity generation, how these generators are connected and controlled, as well as the management of all lines and other stations. In addition to learning about the work mechanism from the control rooms. Then, the electricity exits the transformers to the towers, and to the areas.<\/p>\n

The students also visited the high and low-pressure departments, the transmission room, and the maintenance workshop.<\/p>\n
