{"id":891,"date":"2025-11-03T10:14:56","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T07:14:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hu.edu.ye\/envfac\/en\/?p=891"},"modified":"2026-06-14T10:19:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T07:19:08","slug":"hadhramout-company-for-flour-mills-and-grain-silos-receives-students-of-the-department-of-food-science-and-technology-at-hadhramout-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hu.edu.ye\/envfac\/en\/details\/891\/","title":{"rendered":"Hadhramout Company for Flour Mills and Grain Silos Receives Students of the Department of Food Science and Technology at Hadhramout University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">In line with the objectives of the <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology<\/span> and the mission of the <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Department of Food Science and Technology<\/span>, fourth\u2011level students from the department visited the <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Hadhramout Company for Flour Mills and Grain Silos<\/span> in Al\u2011Mukalla on the morning of <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Sunday, 2 November 2025<\/span>, accompanied by <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Dr. Ali Mohammed Baabad<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure and to equip them with knowledge and insights into the full process of <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">wheat milling<\/span>, from reception to packaging. It also aimed to develop their practical skills in milling operations and grain products, including the production of various types of <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">semolina<\/span>, flour of different grades, and processes of flour fortification with essential nutrients such as <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">iron salts and folates<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Students were also introduced to techniques used to enhance flour products for specialized bread production, including the use of specific additives and improvers. The visit further allowed them to observe processes such as the separation of wheat germ and bran, along with their various uses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">During the tour, students observed the final production stages, including automated packaging lines for fortified flour, bran, and semolina products. Packaging was carried out in bags of different weights according to the standards approved by the factory management and the <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Yemeni Standards and Metrology Organization<\/span>, taking into account distribution requirements and consumer needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">The students demonstrated strong engagement throughout the visit, receiving detailed explanations from the factory engineers, who responded thoroughly to their questions and inquiries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">At the conclusion of the visit, the team leader, <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Dr. Ali Baabad<\/span>, along with the students, expressed their appreciation to the factory management and staff, wishing them continued success and hoping for further visits that would enhance students\u2019 experience and develop their practical skills.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">On the other hand, the <span style=\"font-family: 'Segoe UI',sans-serif;\">Production Manager, Eng.
