Agreements were signed today in the city of Mukalla for the supply, installation, and operation of solar power systems in healthcare facilities within the Mukalla District, with a total capacity of 184.16 kilowatts. The project is funded by the Kuwait-based humanitarian organization Direct Aid<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The agreements, signed under the patronage of the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, mark the launch of an ambitious initiative to install and operate solar energy systems in four healthcare facilities in Mukalla:<\/p>\n

Al-Rahma Cooperative Hospital (112 kW)<\/p>\n

Hadhramaut University Family Medicine Center (44.16 kW)<\/p>\n

Al-Insha\u2019at Health Center (16.80 kW)<\/p>\n

Hala Health Unit (11.20 kW)<\/p>\n

This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance energy efficiency in the healthcare sector, promote environmental sustainability, and reduce long-term operational costs.<\/p>\n

According to the agreement, Direct Aid will provide renewable energy solutions by installing solar panels at the targeted facilities. The systems are expected to cover a significant portion of the electricity needs of these centers, reducing reliance on the national grid and ensuring the continuity of essential services during power outages.<\/p>\n

Governor Bin Madi praised the initiative as a step toward transforming healthcare facilities into environmentally sustainable models and investing in community health through the integration of modern technology. The agreements were signed by Dr. Mohammed Al-Jamhi and Mr. Omar Al-Ashouli, Directors-General of the Ministries of Public Health and Population, and Planning and International Cooperation in Coastal Hadhramout, respectively.
