His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Al-Wasabi, visited Hadhramout University. He met with the university leadership headed by Prof. Muhammad Saeed Khanbash; the university president.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Minister of Higher Education, accompanied by the president of Hadhramout University and his delegation. They visited the Open Education Faculty at the Future Colleges Complex.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They were received by Dr. Walid Al-Atas, the Dean of the Open Education Faculty, Dr. Muhammad Bamatraf, the Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology, Dr. Faiza Abidi, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, as well as several faculty leaders and department heads.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The delegation toured the educational meeting halls and discussions, the electronic control center, and the admission and registration department, and closely examined the progress of studies and the implementation of scientific lectures for students enrolled in all specialties at the faculty.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

His Excellency the Minister was briefed on the new facilities at the Open Education faculty and the activation of lectures through Internet technologies in order to keep abreast with modern trends in support of inclusivity and access to higher education. He expressed his gratitude to the university leadership and the faculty deanship for their cooperation and interest in providing such services and the necessity of benefiting from the university’s experience in this field and developing it. It occurred within the ministry’s interest in this type of education and organizing distance learning according to national accreditation standards.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The plan of the Open Education Faculty was also discussed to fulfill the ministry’s requirements after obtaining institutional accreditation with a college degree, as the first institution, from the ministry. It was agreed to adopt the faculty’s outcomes, with ongoing development according to the established plan.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

the Minister also emphasized the necessity of holding a workshop to exchange experiences and update national standards for distance education. He explained that the ministry’s vision is to localize technology to facilitate access and achieve inclusivity and diversity in higher education in general, and distance education within national regulations and standards.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He was accompanied during the visit by Prof. Khaled Omar Basleem, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Educational Affairs, Prof. Hussein Baslama, former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Ramzi Saeed, the Minister’s Office Director, Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban, Acting Deputy President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Mr. Abdullah Alawi Aideed, General Secretary of the University, Mr. Hussein Baslaib; General Director of the University President’s Office, Mr. Ahmed Zain Bahmaid;\u00a0<\/span><\/span>General Director of the Media Department at Hadhramout University, and Dr. Aboud Al-Abal, President of Arab University.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
