Discussing the Ways to Amend the Situation of the Rented Building of the Education College in Socotra

Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President discussed the academic work at Education College in Socotra and the procedures to maintain the regularity of study there, and protect it from closure due to the current building situation of the college with the two representatives of Arkhabil, Socotra, Eng. Raed Al-Juraibi; the First Vice-President of the Governorate, and Brigadier Saleh Ali Saad; Vice-President of the Governorate, in the presence of Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair; Vice President for Academic Affairs. In addition to Prof. Salem Mohammed bin Salman; Assistant Vice President for Students Academic Affairs, and Mr. Hussein Abdullah Basalaib; General Director of the President’s Office.

In this context, the meeting discussed the current situation of the rented building of the Education College in Socotra and the concern that it might be vacated to its owner in the coming months. Moreover, the governorate’s local authority should hand over the existing educational facilities for public education to the university which falls within the governorate’s authorities to transfer the college to it temporarily, until Its planned building is constructed according to the future university projects.

The meeting concluded by discussing  the need for donors  to establish a new building for the college that is commensurate with its various needs, activities, and tasks. In addition to meet the island’s developing needs as well as actively strive at the level of the local authority to provide an existing building for one of the existing educational facilities, and to hand it over to the Education College in Socotra before the end of the current academic year 2020/2021.
