HU Academic Development Center Concluded A Virtual Course on the Design and Development of Academic Programs

The Virtual Course on the Design and Development of Academic Programs held via Zoom. It lasted for fifteen hours over three days, with the participation of forty-five academic staff members and teaching assistants. The participants engaged in extensive discussions with the course trainer, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharjabi, from 3:35 pm to 6:15 pm on the specified consecutive days of June 8th to June 10th, 2020.

The course aimed to equip the participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for designing and developing programs based on learning outcomes and designing a system for measuring learning outcomes in educational systems. It covered topics such as understanding learning outcomes, enhancing the educational process through their development, and the significance of measuring and evaluating different learning outcomes based on the design of academic programs and courses. The course also focused on designing measurement plans for the programs and their implementation.

Khaled Awadh Al-Rubaki, the Director of the Qualifying and Training Department at the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, expressed his satisfaction with the participants’ engagement and the success of this new training approach during the COVID-19 pandemic. He stated that the Academic Development Center is determined to offer several courses and workshops related to improving the quality of education and keeping up with the post-COVID-19 world.
