Vision

Mission

To prepare scientifically and pedagogically qualified teachers in the field of Arabic language and its literature, capable of teaching Arabic language courses at the intermediate and secondary levels, contributing to the educational process, and being prepared to pursue postgraduate studies.

Objectives

  1. To prepare scientifically and pedagogically qualified teachers in the field of Arabic language and its literature.
  2. To equip students/teachers with the skills to address the challenges and issues facing the Arabic language.
  3. To prepare students/teachers to conduct research in Arabic language and literature and to address problems related to Arabic language learning.
  4. To meet the needs of the local and regional labor market for Arabic language teachers at the intermediate and secondary levels.
  5. To prepare qualified personnel capable of leading educational work in various educational institutions.
  6. To provide scientific and educational consultation to institutions and agencies related to the department’s specializations.
  7. To prepare graduates for pursuing postgraduate studies in the field.

The curriculum of the Bachelor’s Program in Arabic Language Teaching consists of 139 credit hours, which students complete over eight academic semesters. These hours are distributed across three core requirement categories, as outlined in the table below.

Course Coding and Numbering in the Curriculum of the Bachelor’s Program in Arabic Language Teaching

Courses in the Arabic Language Teaching program are coded with the prefix “ARTE”, which refers to the Bachelor’s Program in Arabic Language Teaching. The course numbering consists of three digits, each representing the following:

  1. The first digit (hundreds place) indicates the academic year in which the course is offered. For example, the number 1 refers to the first academic year.
  2. The second digit (tens place) represents the semester in which the course is taught. The number 1 refers to the first semester, while 2 refers to the second semester.
  3. The third digit (units place) indicates the sequence of the course within the semester according to the curriculum structure.
  1. University Requirements:

These are mandatory courses that all university students must complete, regardless of their field of study. The University Requirements consist of 16 credit hours, representing approximately 11% of the total credit hours in the curriculum. These courses are distributed as shown in the table below.
