The Viva- Voce Examination on the PhD dissertation was held on Saturday,7 Nov., 2020 at the Higher Studies Hall of the Education College at HU by researcher Saleh Ahmed Bashamkha, entitled (the effect of a training program to reduce symptoms of social phobia among students of the Education College in Seiyun).
The Examination committee consisted of:
Prof. Waheed Mohammed Sulaiman; Chairman and External Examiner – University of Aden Associate Professor Dr. Omar Obaid Basaad; Supervisor – Seiyun University Associate Professor Dr. Omar Mubarak Bamir; Internal Examiner- Hadhramout University
The researcher concluded with a number of recommendations:
- The study recommends university professors to encourage students to give assignments in the classroom, and urge them to interact in the educational environment.
- Establishing special programs for students who suffer from social phobia.
- The Educational and Psychological Sciences Department at Hadhramout and Seiyun Universities adopted the program prepared for the study.
From his part, the Head of the Educational Sciences Department, Dr. Majed Al-Batati, expressed his happiness at examining the doctoral dissertation, and considered this as a scientific development for the college and the university. He added that the Educational Sciences Department includes four batches in the PhD field, specializing in curricula and teaching methods, and this year a new specialization was added in the PhD program which is Educational administration. He appreciated the efforts of the College Dean, Dr. Saeed Salmeen Belafair, and those in charge of postgraduate studies at the College and the University, noting that the Education College is the only college that currently includes PhD programs at Hadhramout University.
At the conclusion of the examination, the committee approved the dissertation, and awarded the student a PhD. It was attended by Dr. Saleh Qamzawi; former Dean of the Education College in Mukalla, Dr. Saeed Belafair; Dean of the Education College in Mukalla, Dr. Majed Mubarak Al-Batati; Head of the Educational Sciences Department at the Education College in Mukalla, Dr. Abdulrahim Hamid Al-Hamdi; Head of the Educational and Psychological Sciences Department, Education College in Seiyun, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haddad; Head of the Laboratories Department at Medicine and Health Sciences College, and Prof. Ali Al- Kaf.
