Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President described the inauguration of the Society Petroleum Engineers(SPE) Center at Engineering and Petroleum Faculty at Hadhramout University as a new point of light emanating from a new field added to four international fields. Hadhramout University was honored with its membership, which enhances its position not only at the local and Arab levels. , but also on the international level.
It was held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, in the International Conference Hall of the Engineering and Petroleum faculty. At the ceremony HU president said that the university has the right to be proud of this achievement, and the students also have the right to be in the leadership. Moreover, he added that the university presidency will support students in all fields of science and knowledge.
From his side, Dr. Salem Obaid Ba-Armah; Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department pointed out that after nine years of diligent work, continuous communication and research, we kept acquiring knowledge and science, until we achieved our goal, and the approval of our membership in the International Society of Engineering and Petroleum (SPE) on the fifteenth of June 2020.This was a great achievement. He thanked all the participants; the leadership of the university, the faculty and the department.
On his part, Prof. Abbas Mohammed Al-Khudafi; the supervisor of this chapter indicated that the benefits of membership in this chapter were manifested in the fact that it was a global portal that opened opportunities for university students to participate, and to obtain the services provided by the International Society of Engineers in the field of scientific research, communication and employment. He added that since they had come to this remarkable achievement they should do their best to maintain this global position.
In addition, the students provided a full explanation of the Society’s advantages for petroleum engineering students, as it opened new horizons towards a bright future with qualification programs and training courses to enhance the academic process.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Mahra Governorate, Prof. Salem Nimer and his companions, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthany; Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Saeed bin Ajaj; Deputy Dean of Engineering and Petroleum Faculy, the Acting Dean of the Faculty, the Deputy Deans, and a number of staff members and their assistants . In addition to Prof. Ahmed Zain Bahmaid; General Director of the General Information Administration at the university, a number of directors and students of Engineering and Petroleum Faculty.
