About Facility
The opening of the University Hospital for Gynecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics in 2007 as a specialized hospital in the field of maternal and child health was a very important event for Mukalla city and neighboring governorates such as Shabwah, Al-Mahara and Socotra, due to the excellent health care provided by its distinguished medical team as well as the modern and advanced equipment.
The opening of the University Hospital (HU) was an extraordinary event for the students of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences as well as the Nursing College, as it represents a cornerstone of the requirements for the faculty of Medicine.
The University keens to keep pace with developments in the provision of health services, based on the results of research and studies in this filed, after learning about successful experiences in the provision of medical services to society at home and abroad, and based on the recommendations of the World Health Organization; The University intended to begin providing primary health care in accordance with international standards by introducing the concept of family medicine as the best means of achieving health for all; accordingly, the President of the University decided to establish the (Hadhramaut University Centre for Family Medicine) with a technical and administrative integrated health team; through an integrated system with the Family Medicine Centers of the Ministry of Health and Population at Hadhramaut Governorate

Objectives
- To provide continuous primary health care with high quality.
- To provide serves with approved international standards, to optimize the use of available human and material resource.
- To raise the efficiency of the Centre’s health and administrative cadre by developing and implementing training and continuing education programs.
- To create a professional patient database (Model Statistical System for Beneficiary Families), linked to the centers of the Ministry of Health and Population, within the framework of coordination, cooperation and integration of service upgrading.
- To establish a strategic partnership with the various medical colleges of the University; With a view to improving the quality and supervision of the service provided
- To promote health awareness through the development and implementation of education and health education programmes, through the establishment of a hall equipped with various educational means, the provision of qualified cadres, and the use of the lounge as an educational environment and a platform to promote health awareness.
- To provide a model training environment for students of the Family Medicine Department of college of Medicine, as well as various medical colleges, and provide support to these colleges through practical and educational participation, exchange of medical interests and contribution to scientific research.
- Active contribution to community awareness through the implementation of preventive and citizen health promotion programs.
- To provide specialized clinics at the center through the contribution of fellow faculty members at the University’s Medicine college ; With the aim of facilitating the advisory referral process, and providing a distinct and integrated service.
- To contribute to the preparation of studies and research, and provide a flexible and effective referral system by strengthening cooperation and communication between doctors, professionals and health institutions at all levels and exchanging information
