Hadhramout University concluded its first Community Service Week with a workshop entitled “The Social Responsibility of the Hadhramout University Family Medicine Center,” held in the Family Medicine Center Hall in Mukalla. The event was part of the university’s celebration of its 30th anniversary.
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, Hadhramout University President, along with a number of university officials and health sector representatives. During the session, Dr. Afaf Al-Shadli presented a comprehensive report on the services provided by the Family Medicine Center. The report detailed the center’s developmental stages, beneficiaries’ feedback, and evaluations from relevant authorities. The presentation was well received by attendees and set the stage for a lively discussion.
An open forum followed, during which participants posed questions and shared insights. The speakers addressed all inquiries and emphasized the center’s commitment to community-centered care.
In recognition of key contributions to the center’s establishment, Prof. Dr. Khanbash honored several individuals and institutions with commemorative shields.
The workshop concluded with a series of recommendations and proposed actions aimed at further enhancing the role and effectiveness of the Family Medicine Center in serving the local community.
Among those in attendance were Prof. Dr. Salem Mohammed Bin Salman, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs; several college deans and university faculty members; Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Jamhi, Director General of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Coastal Hadhramout; Dr. Khaled Sheiban, President of Ibn Sina General Hospital Authority in Mukalla; along with medical professionals and staff from the Family Medicine Center.
