HU Organizes a Scientific Symposium Entitled the Impact of International Publishing and Electronic Portals

HU organized a scientific symposium entitled (The impact of international publishing and electronic portals on the universities Global Classifications), funded by Al- Awn Foundation for Development, which comes within the celebrations of the university’s twenty-fifth anniversary of its founding.

In the opening session of this symposium, Hadhramout’s Governor – Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General / Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani confirmed that holding this scientific symposium coincides with the governorate’s celebration of the Hadhramout coast liberation in its second anniversary, indicating that Hadhramout is able to create achievements and miracles through its security and stability. Hadhramout will witness a development in its services in the education field and infrastructure that concern citizens, pointing out that HU with its limited capabilities, is interested in scientific and international publishing for competition within the global universities classifications,. He called on the university presidency to benefit from the experiences of Arab and international universities that preceded us in the global university classification, in order to progress towards excellence and success for HU during the coming years.

He thanked Hadhramout University for organizing this scientific symposium and Al-Awn Foundation for its support in various aspects of education through its partnership with educational, governmental and civil organizations in Hadhramout governorate.

Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President, indicated that the aim of this scientific symposium is to introduce the international classification, its objectives and the criteria on which it is based, as well as the impact of international publishing and electronic portals as a basic criterion of international university classification standards. Also, to highlight the experience of some Arab and Islamic universities in raising its global classification which will raise the level of classification for HU at the level of Arab universities,. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the local authority for maintaining its support for the various activities of the university, as well as the Al-Awn Foundation for Development, the party that supported this scientific symposium and all parties contributing to the success of its activities.

Dr. Lotfi Saeed bin Dahman, symposium reporter of  the preparatory committee for the, general director of scientific research at the university, indicated that this symposium will discuss a number of main points, including the impact of international publication of scientific production on the universities classification within the global classification, as well as the most famous international classifications of universities and the standards that universities have adopted and presented some of the experiences of Arab universities to raise their global classifications. In addition to  a number of other points for international publishing and electronic portals in world university classification presented by a group of academics and specialists in scientific fields from HU and some Arab universities.
