The activities of the 4th Scientific Conference, ”The role of humanities Sciences in achieving sustainable development” were inaugurated at Ali Bakatheer, hall in HU presidency. In the opening session of the conference, which commenced with verses from the Holy Qur’an, Hadhramout Governor, Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani confirmed that Hadhramout has reached advanced stages that it has two universities, Hadhramout and Seiyun, and will reach the level of international universities, calling on the university to contribute in solving societal problems through scientific research. As well as advancing the academic and scientific work of the university and starting communication with Arab and international universities, confirming that the local authority in the governorate will be a supportive of the university in various fields. He emphasized the need to link the scientific facts to meet everything new which serves sustainable development, praised the role of the university presidency in the process of stability for university study, expressing his thanks and appreciation to all researchers Conference participants who presented scientific research papers that serve the community in Hadhramout.
Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President, indicated that scientific research contributes to solving the problems of society and the university pay great importance in this field, pointing out that the 4th scientific conference includes a number of axes that contribute to achieving sustainable development. He indicated that Hadhramout University has begun preparing to hold the 5th International Scientific Conference on Intelligent Computing, which will be held in December 2019. The university will also organize the annual scientific conference for students, and it will witness scientific development during the coming period due to the current conditions that the country is going through.
Moreover, He noted that the University Council in its last meeting approved two awards for the distinguished researcher and the best website. He called on businessmen to support and sponsor all scientific activities of the university, thanking Sheikh Mohammed Awadh Al-Busairi; head of the Al-Busairi Exchange Company, for his support and sponsorship of this 4th scientific conference, as well as the local authority represented by the Governor for their continuous support to HU and all the working committees in the conference and university employees who contributed to the success of the fourth scientific conference for the year 2019.
From his part, Prof. Abdullah Hussein Al-Bar; head of the scientific committee of the conference, reviewed the tasks and steps taken by the committee and how to receive requests for advanced scientific research to participate in the conference, which has a role in contributing to achieving sustainable development in society. He pointed out that universities are active in scientific research to include all community issues.
At the conclusion of the opening session of the conference, Hadhramout Governor, Major General Faraj Salmeen Al-Bahsani and HU President, Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, President of Sayun University, Dr . Mohammed Ashour Al-Kathiri and a. Abdullah Alawi Aideed; General Secretary of the University, honored the local authority in the governorate and the golden sponsor of the conference, Al-Busairi Exchange Company, and handed over memorial shields.
