HU Participates in a Symposium on Improving the Arab Universities Among International Universities Ranking and the Aole of Arcif

Hadhramout University participated in the Symposium on Improving the Ranking of Arab Universities in the International Rankings of Universities and the Role of the Arab Impact and Citation Factor (Arcif), held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, by Maarefa Foundation.

The Arab Impact and Citation Factor was announced, which is the first measure of its kind for the Arab academic product in accordance with international standards, and the consultant of (Arcif), Dr. Najeeb Al-Sharbaji, presented the efforts made to come up with the Arsef impact factor. He indicated that work has been done to collect and study data on more than 4,000 Arab scientific and research journal titles in various disciplines issued by more than 1,400 scientific and research bodies in 20 Arab countries and in the presence of a number of staff members from various Yemeni and Arab universities.

HU represented in the symposium by Dr. Salem Faraj Bamasoud; General Director of Scientific Research at the university, who pointed out the importance of this symposium and considered it a great step to show the status of the scientific production of Arab universities and limit them to  database comparable to other global databases.

He stressed that HU submitted a request to the people in charge of the database (Maarefa) to include Hadhramout University Journal of Applied Sciences and Humanities, which will contribute to showing the giant research outcomes of Hadhramout University professors at the Arab level and raising the ranking of Hadhramout University in the Arab world. He said that this step comes within the plan of the postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research to encourage researchers at Hadhramout University to share their scientific and research productions on the Arab and international levels.
