Master’s Theses Examination For the First Time in Business Administration and Physical Education & Sports Departments

The first two master’s theses at Administrative Sciences College in Business Administration Department were examined on Thursday, October 8, 2019, in Ali Ahmed Bakatheer Hall  at the University Presidency. The first thesis was entitled: (The Role of Good Governance Standards in Achieving Administrative Efficiency, A Field Study in the Administrative Apparatus of Hadhramout Governorate) by the researcher, Nadia Mohammed Bin Othman. The Examination committee consisted of:

  • Dr. Mohammed Hammam Al-Hammam; external examiner, University of Aden.
  • Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al-Kaldi; internal examiner, Hadhramout University.
  • Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al-Jabri; Supervisor, Hadhramout University.

The second thesis was entitled: (The Extent of Total Quality Management Application in Higher Education Institutions in Hadhramout) by researcher Khalid Mohammed Basadiq. The Examination committee  consisted of:

  • Dr. Mohammed Hammam bin Hammam, external examiner, University of Aden.
  • Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Rajab, internal examiner, Hadhramout University.
  • Dr. Salah Omar Belkheir, supervisor, Hadhramout University.

Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban; Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, described the inauguration of these examinations as a new stage in postgraduate studies at college, and  was a forward step for the university. He expressed his happiness and appreciation for their efforts, adding that  this was indeed a special historical day with profound implications, perhaps the least of which was the success of the MA course at  Administrative Sciences College.

On his part, Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Belhawisel; Dean of Administrative Sciences College, indicted that they were proud and appreciated for the inauguration of the first two MA theses in Business Administrative department. The first thesis was about an interesting topic which was Hadhramout,” The  Good Governance Standards” and they got benefit from its remarkable examination. While The second thesis dealt with an important topic related to the Total Quality Management at the university. He said that the Administrative Sciences College, which represented by its Deanship, expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation for the elegant presentation by the examiners, led by the external examiner, Dr. Mohammed Bin Hammam. He pointed out that the Administrative Sciences College sought to direct postgraduate students to search and study topics related to Hadhramout and solve its various problems.

The thesis of researcher Nadia Mohammed Bin Othman dealt with the extent of the good governance standards application, and indicated the level of administrative efficiency in the administrative apparatus of public organizations in Hadhramout. Also it demonstrated  the role of good governance standards in achieving administrative efficiency in the administrative apparatus.

The researcher’s study of  Khalid Basadiq,  had reached a set of results, the most important of which is the weakness of the standards application  of Arab Universities Union for quality, as well as the presence of statistically significant differences at the significance level of 5% on the sample answers in all axes of the study. Moreover, it  identified the standards application  of Arab Universities Union for quality in the faculties of HU, from academic administrator’s view (the deans of the colleges, their deputies and heads of scientific departments). The two examinations were attended by Dr. Libya Bahwerth; Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and postgraduate Studies, and Dr. Khalid Al-Jabri; deputy Dean for Quality Affairs, Dr. Salah Belkheir; Head of Business Administration Department, and a large number of university staff members, master’s students and those interested in scientific research.

On the other hand, the researchers Salem Ahmed Salem Al Hindi and Samir Salem Bruk Bin Saeed obtained a master’s degree in (Sports Science) from Hadhramout University, and they were the first two students to receive a master’s degree at the university in Physical Education and Sports Department. The researcher Salem Ahmed Salem Al-Hindi obtained a master’s degree for his thesis entitled (Studying some kinematic variables for the stages of approach and advancement and their relationship to the level of achievement with the effectiveness of the long jump). He obtained his master’s degree after the examination by a committee consisting of: the supervisor, Prof.  Hadi Salem Al-Sabban, and the two members of the examination committee, Prof. Azzan Abdo Qaed, and Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Ba-Abbad. The researcher Samir Salem Burk bin Saeed also obtained a master’s degree for his thesis (setting standard levels for some basic skills in handball for students  of Physical and Sports Education Department, Education College, Hadhramout University). The thesis was supervised by Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Ba-Abbad, and the examination committee was formed, along with Supervisor, from Prof. Azzan Abdo Qaed, and Prof. Dr. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban.
