postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Deputyship at HU, was the bridge of internal and external communication, the future vision and the map of hope. Moreover, scientific research is the motivational factor of the university. On the other hand, postgraduate studies is the window through which Hadhramout University overlooks the world widely.
Dr. Hadi Alsaban was presented with the axis in his office with his usual welcome, graciousness and smile. They discussed the evaluation of the postgraduate Studies and Scientific research performance. At the same time, Dr. Hadi Al-Sabban indicated that postgraduate studies deputyship was supported by Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, HU president, deans, their deputies, the heads of the scientific departments, staff members, their assistants, employees and affiliates. As a result, it reached great achievements as follows:
The percentage of theses that were examined in the interview last year increased by nearly 100%. (37) theses were examined in the academic year 2017/2018, while (67) theses were examined in the 2018/2019 academic year.
In addition, the continued issuance of scientific journals, without any significant delay in researchers in publishing their research.
As for the General Administration of Scientific Research, it has achieved a number of special research lectures for postgraduate students, scientific publishing mechanism, the scientific symposium in scientific publishing and its fourth scientific conference which was held at the university. During the past days, the fifth and first international scientific conference was held at the university for the year 2019, and preparations were being made to hold workshops and scientific conferences.
As for the research centers, they have a plan on several topics and research projects, some of which have been accomplished and some are in the process of the follow-up. The year 2020 is considered the year of scientific research, according to the statements of the Higher Education Minister and Scientific Research in the fifth and first international conference at the university for computing and intelligent engineering.
The General Administration of Postgraduate Studies, has delegated a large number of assistant staff members, in a short period of time with a rate of 120% compared to the previous year.
After that, he presented an overview about MA theses and indicated that a scientific examination was held for the first time since the program was opened in some specializations. The most remarkable thing is the completion and examination of the thesis was within the academic period for the master’s stage, because the maximum academic period for the master’s stage is 3 years, and among these specializations is sports sciences and business administration.
Also the opening of a new master’s program in Science college, in physics field. An agreement was also signed with the University of Aden recently to open postgraduate studies programs accredited to the University of Aden, besides the university’s president signing memorandum of understanding with Malaysian, Egyptian and Tunisian universities to open programs and conduct joint research with Hadhramout University and scholarships.
There were many scientific studies that have been examined recently, which focused on various aspects of society, some about education aspect, another in the marine field, while the other in the medical aspect, such as:
(the extent of anemia and its related factors among women of age Childbearing in Al-Shehr District , Hadhramout) for the student Bodour Saeed Al-Ammari, Medicine and Health Sciences college, specializing in family medicine. Also, a study entitled (The impact of financial analysis on the performance of banks, an applied study on banks operating in Mukalla) by student Ahmed Abdullah Bawazeer at Administrative Sciences College and a study on (the impact of a proposed program in developing the concepts of water education for kindergarten children and developing their attitudes). To add on, a study entitled (the obvious words in the statement of what is meant by the ajourism) and a study and investigation by the student, Awadh Mabrouk al-Qahoum, at faculty of Arts, and a study on (The Reality of Date Palm Cultivation in Wadi Hajar, Problems and Solutions) by Naif Mohammed Balatif, Science College and so on..
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Hadi Alsaban pointed out that many staff members have research participations with Yemeni or non-Yemeni universities. For example, participation in conferences, scientific workshops, examination of scientific theses in universities, or scientific research aimed at solving some of the difficulties encountered by some countries, whether economic, political or social.
