Hadhramout University Achieves the Sixth Place in International Commercial Arbitration Moot

Hadhramout University students Muhammad Bin Qahtan, Muaad Al-Kasadi, Waleed Al-Fadhli, Awadh Al-Ameri, Nama Al-Kaldi, and Noha Sahelan placed sixth in the fourth annual International Commercial Arbitration Moot, which was held under the patronage of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. The competition was attended by 20 countries, 109 universities, and 789 students.

The students were supervised by Dr. Omar Saleh Bawazir, head of the Law Department and a specialist in international commercial arbitration. They prepared for the competition since the beginning of the 2023 academic year, using recent scientific resources. They went through all the competition stages with confidence and determination, under the patronage of Hadhramout University President Prof. Muhammad Saeed Khanbash, the supervision of Student Affairs Deputyship headed by Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathany, and the support of the dean of the law faculty Dr. Faiza Ahmed Obaidi.

The final round was held on Saturday, May 13-14, 2023 via Zoom. Hadhramout University advanced against the other Yemeni and Arab universities and ranked sixth in the competition.
