Inaugurating Applied Sciences and Humanities College- AlMahra

Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President indicated that the university is looking forward through the inauguration of Applied Sciences and Humanities College in Al-Mahra Governorate to a bright future for the country in which its youth, enlightened by science and knowledge, bear responsibility. It was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Salem Nimer; the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Mahra, Mr. Mukhtar bin Awaidh; the first deputy of the governorate, Salem Al-Aboudi; the governorate’s deputy for technical affairs, Khadija Saad Bakrait; the governorate’s deputy for women’s affairs, Dr. Fayez Jumaan Khamis; dean of the  Applied Sciences and Humanities College, and a number of staff members and directors of ministries offices in Al-Mahra .

In addition, HU president added that Hadhramout University pays attention to the university education in Al-Mahra, indicating that the Applied Sciences and Humanities College in Al-Mahra will open new specializations to meet the students’ aspirations and achieve sustainable development through the scientific qualification. He expressed his happiness and the university’s readiness to provide the necessary facilities for developing the college.

From his part, Mr. Salem Nimer conveyed the greetings of Al-Mahra Governor, Sheikh Rajeh Saeed Bakrait, to the attendees, praising the efforts of Hadhramout University presidency in inaugurating a new college that will have a significant impact on development events in the governorate. He expressed the governorate’s readiness to work in a way that serves the faculties to achieve the desired development of university education in Mahra.

The ceremony included a number of folkloric scenes and dances drawn from Mahra’s cultural heritage. The university honored the former and current governors of Al-Mahra with the university shield in return for their efforts in supporting the university branch in Al-Mahra represented in the  Education, Applied Sciences and Humanities colleges. In addition to a number of staff members who were also honored.

The Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Mahra gave the governorate’s shield to Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President, in gratitude from the governorate’s leadership and appreciation for the efforts of Hadhramout University in university education in Al-Mahra governorate.
