Education Faculty – Al-Mahra Inaugurates Six Scientific Master’s Examinations

Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President participated in the inauguration of the viva voce examination of  the master’s program with Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban; Acting Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Salem Abdullah Nimar; Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Mahra Governorate, Sheikh Saleh Mohammed Alyan; Deputy of Education Affairs, Dr. Adel Karamah Maili; Dean of the Education College, and Dr. Fayez Jumaan bin Markab; Dean of the Applied Sciences and Humanities College in Al-Mahra.

The president of the university said in his speech: ”Today, as we celebrate the examination of the first master’s theses 19 years after the graduation of the first bachelor’s batch in Al-Mahra from this college, we feel proud of this achievement”. He expressed his happiness to the six students from the Islamic Studies Department and Arabic Language department for obtaining the honor of being the first batch of this program, adding that he looks forward to the day when they will honor students who obtain a doctorate degree from this college.

He stated that although the country is going through a crisis, the university has achieved great successes during the last five years since 2015. Including the launch of (26) master’s programs, two doctoral programs, and a special program that does not exist in any Yemeni university, which is the (Fellowship in Cardiology) program. Furthermore, our students have completed (160) scientific research accordingly during Corona pandemic, they have obtained certificates of Masters and PhD.

He also indicated that during the current academic year, two scientific conferences would be held, one on technology and science, and the other on computing and smart engineering, in cooperation with the Malaysian University of Perlis. He expressed the university’s pride in the partnership and cooperation with Al-Mahra Governorate, and highly valued the efforts of Governor Mohammed Ali Yasser and the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Mr. Salem Abdullah Nimer, and all the governors in the local authority in Al-Mahra.

From his part, Dr. Adel Maaili, welcomed the university’s leadership, pointing out that the number of master’s batches in the college is three, and  the first admission of postgraduate students was in the year 2018/2019 for the Arabic language and Islamic studies specializations, In the year 2019/2020, the first batch of postgraduate students was accepted to specialize in curricula and teaching methods.

Mr. Salem Abdullah Nimer pointed out that this day will leave a good impact on Al-Mahra students. He affirmed the authority’s continued support for the university for the success of educational programs. The student, Yasser Al-Hatami, delivered a speech on behalf of his colleagues, in which he expressed his appreciation to the College Deanship and postgraduate Studies deputyship, and the University’s leadership for their efforts.
