The Department of Architectural Engineering & Environmental Planning was established in parallel with the establishment of Hadhramout University in 1996 / 1997.

Since the establishment of the Department, 16 batches of 662 students graduated in the academic year 2015-2016 . Currently, the 17th batch which includes 114 students will graduate.

Mission

We prepare outstanding architectural engineers at the local and regional level, who have the ability to conduct scientific researches, cope with scientific development, career updates, and community service through high quality programs. In addition, we encourage creativity and innovation, and strengthen partnership with related institutions and public bodies.

Objectives

  1. To provide students with theoretical and applied principles and concepts of basic sciences, architectural sciences and environmental planning.
  2. To provide students with the skills of using specialized devices.
  3. To provide students with the skills of preparing research and professional reports and solving problems related to architectural engineering and environmental planning, in order to contribute to the development and community service.
  4. To found a scientific environment suitable for academic work in the field of architectural engineering and environmental planning in order to keep up with the requirements of the modern era and face its challenges.
  5. To provide students with values and ethics of the profession, skills of modern technology and communication, and teamwork.
  6. To seek for quality, support and encourage scientific research in the fields of architectural engineering and environmental planning, and strengthen partnership with public institutions and related companies.
