In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the university, the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum organized the first consultative meeting of the faculty with relevant companies and institutions in the public and private sectors, in the presence of representatives of companies and institutions. In the opening session, which began with verses from the Holy Qur’an, Mr. Fahmy Awadh Badawi; Assistant Undersecretary for Youth Affairs of Hadhramout, confirmed that this meeting comes to discuss a number of issues related to young graduates from the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum to accommodate them in the labor market. He called on all companies and institutions in the public and private sectors to Benefiting from them as they were a real human wealth, and he said, “Let us make Hadhramout a real model to be followed in investing in young graduates in the labor market”.
He thanked the Deanship of the Engineering and Petroleum Faculty at Hadhramout University for organizing this first consultative meeting with relevant companies and institutions in Hadhramout Governorate.
For his part, Dr. Amer Badr Bin Murdah; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum at Hadhramout University, indicated that this meeting aimed at creating a real partnership on sound foundations with relevant companies and institutions to serve the graduate students to engage in the labor market, stressing that the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum contributed to the development of the educational process at the university in order to improve its outcomes in preparing highly qualified graduates in the theoretical and practical aspects, as well as contributing to solving the engineering and environmental problems of the community. He thanked the university presidency represented by Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; the president of the university, for providing various ways to support this first consultative meeting with the relevant authorities to come up with realistic recommendations that can be implemented. It builds upon and establishes effective and fruitful partnerships between the faculty and the relevant companies and institutions in Hadhramout Governorate.
After that, Dr. Mazen Muhairi; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum for Quality Affairs, gave a presentation to the attendees from the relevant companies and institutions, reviewing an introductory note about the scientific departments of the faculty since its establishment and the stages of its scientific and academic development. In addition to explaining the vision, mission and objectives of the faculty, including preparing and qualifying engineers in the fields of engineering and providing them with knowledge in the basic sciences of engineering and to support and encourage scientific research by strengthening the partnership between the faculty, companies, and governmental and private institutions.
During the consultative meeting, discussion committee were held on aspects of cooperation and partnership between the faculty and government , private institutions and companies, as well as the formation of a joint committee to formulate and approve recommendations and proposals.
