Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; President of Hadhramout University, along with Dr. Amer Badr Bin Mardah; Dean of Engineering and Petroleum faculty, and Dr. Osama Awadh Bin Dahman; Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, inaugurated the Chemical Reactor Engineering Laboratory, which reflected the practical industrial reality, starting with the stages of preparing raw materials, passing through reactor equipment, all the way to Industrial products. The laboratory includes a number of chemical reactor equipment with different operating systems. Moreover, the laboratory is equipped with modern technological equipment that contains a control system and special programs to monitor production processes through the SOLDAS control program.
The President of the University confirmed that this laboratory is unique in its kind with its modern high specifications equipment. It also represented one of the important achievements in the university’s efforts to develop the laboratories in order to link theoretical education with the practical side so that students can work and acquire practical skills that qualify them to meet the requirements of Labor market.
He also indicated that the university leadership is proud of the chemical engineering specialization as one of the rare specializations in Yemeni universities, and one of the most important scientific and applied specializations in our contemporary world. Due to its development the quality was achieved at Hadhramout University to raise the educational and scientific level and provide quality programs that achieve quality in education and community service. In addition to keep abreast with the great and rapid development in the world, and it seeks to achieve a good reputation locally and regionally.

It was supported by Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan; Chairman of the Trustees Board of the University, who had a prominent role in facilitating the visits of the Chemical Engineering Program team headed by Prof. Ahmed Mubarak Al-Sibai and Dr. Salmeen Saad Al-Shamali, who had the membership of King Fahd University and the rest of the Saudi universities. Furthermore, to benefit from the experience of those universities in developing programs and laboratories in accordance with the American Academic Accreditation Standards (ABET). Prof. Ahmed Al- Sibai; Specialist in reaction engineering and chemical factories design operated the equipment and trained the engineers and technicians after the Malaysian manufacturer apologized due to the circumstances country that the country is going through.
It is worth mentioned that the provision of these equipment of the Chemical Reaction Engineering Laboratory was funded by the International Bank within the Higher Education Development Project of the Chemical Engineering Program. In which study plans and curricula were developed in accordance with the latest international accreditation standards of the American Academic Accreditation Authority (ABET). In addition to modernizing the library, Providing it with books and scientific references, holding a number of internal and external training workshops for staff members and technicians working in laboratories of Saudi universities, exchanging experiences as well as benefiting from the distinguished capabilities of those universities.
