Engineering and Petroleum Faculty at HU holds a Welcoming Meeting for First-Level Students

Student Affairs Deputyship of the Engineering and Petroleum Faculty of at HU held a welcoming meeting on Monday morning 3/10/2021 for first-level students in the Departments of Petroleum Engineering and Architecture.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Fahd Saleh Jawhar; Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, welcomed the new students, conveying to them the greetings of the Faculty Dean, represented by Prof.  Amer Badr bin Mirdah. He congratulated them on the new academic year 2021-2022, hoping that this year will be a stable and successful academic year, urging Students to be diligent in academic attainment.

Deputy Dean for Student Affairs gave the students an overview of the faculty and its specializations and the study started there in 1996. He added that the regulations that  related to university study, attendance and absence, transportation and transferring, regulations of rights and duties related to students, examinations, discipline in the campus, the preservation of public property at the faculty, as well as compliance with university regulations.

In the same context, the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs spoke about the library and its sections of books and scientific references, and its lending section, as well as the electronic library, urging students to enrich their information. He also talked about  laboratories and their role in enhancing the theoretical side, and the need to pay attention  and adhere to instructions and rules inside laboratories, to deal with devices, equipment and tools in a sound and correct manner, and to adhere to occupational safety procedures. He also mentioned  the summer training at the fourth level, since the faculty has agreements and relations with companies, institutions and relevant authorities in the field of training.

From his part, Dr. Salem Obaid Ba-Armah; Head of the Petroleum  Engineering Department, provided the students of the Petroleum Engineering Department with an overview of the department, its academic courses, and the department’s outcomes in the labor market and its fields. It is worth noting that several meetings will be held later for the rest of the faculty’s specializations.
