The third level students in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum on Sunday morning, 13 January 2022, organized a scientific visit to Al Rayan power station, and were received by the station’s crew.
The visit began with a tour of the General Electrical Control Centre, and the engineer Ahmed Hussain Mull Al – Dawla gave a thorough explanation of the control and management mechanisms of all other lines and stations. Then they went to the fuel tank section accompanied by engineer Nabil Baftem; To identify the quality of fuel used in the operation of the plant and its purification and use mechanisms.
The students then went to the desalination facility , where they were introduced to the materials and mechanisms used to purify and desalinate water used in boilers to heat the fuel to facilitate its use at low temperatures then went to the classroom where the heavy fuel is separated and cleaned of impurities.
The visit concluded with a thankfull and gratitude certificate to the management of the station, represented by engineer Ahmed Alimini and all the crew and staff in recognition of the efforts made towards the success of the visit by the students, presented on their behalf by students : Muhammad Bakir, Muhammad Baishot. and they accompained by engineer Alaa Omari, a member of the department’s laboratory staff.
