A Training Workshop at the Faculty of Engineering & Petroleum-HU

The faculty of Engineering and Petroleum at Hadhramout University inaugurated a training workshop on designing and developing educational programs based on learning outcomes on Thursday morning, March 17, 2022. It was inaugurated under the patronage of Prof. Muhammad Saeed Khanbash; President of Hadhramout University, and with the support of the Hadhramout Foundation for Human Development.

At the beginning of the workshop, the Dean of the faculty, Prof. Salem Saleh Bamumen, welcomed the attendees; the Deputy Deans, heads of scientific departments and staff members. Then he pointed out the importance of this workshop in reviewing and discussing local and international standards, the standards of ABET in the quality of education, program learning outcomes, performance indicators, and its importance on Feedback of the educational process evaluation. In addition to the completion of the second stage of the development process for educational programs based on learning outcomes.

He also explained that the support of the Hadhramout Foundation for Human Development for such a workshop is an achievement for the faculty in improving and developing its educational process. He concluded his speech by thanking the Hadhramout Foundation for Human Development for its generous support to the faculty in order to improve and develop education programs according to local and international quality standards, leading to academic accreditation.

After that, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al-Sibai; Deputy Dean of Quality Affairs, the workshop trainer, reviewed the workshop’s axes and objectives. It is worth noting that the workshop will be held in the 17th and 24th of this month, and on its first day it will discuss several axes, most notably: education based on outcomes, local and international standards, and ABET standards, in addition to program learning outcomes, performance indicators, and measurement of learning outcomes. On its second day, it will discuss the axes of formulating performance indicators, connecting the learning outcomes with academic courses, in addition to the course learning outcomes, and connecting learning outcomes with courses.
