Engineering and Petroleum Faculty Participates in the International Geomechanics Symposium(IGS)

Engineering and Petroleum Faculty at Hadhramout University participated in the International Geomechanics Symposium IGS. The symposium was implemented in Al-Khuber City in Saudi Arabia from 29 October to 2 November.

Eng. Hamzah Al-Sharifi presented research titled Evaluation of Different Tree-based Machine Learning Approaches for Formation Lithology Classification. Many famous leaders, researchers, political makers, investors, academics, and Businessmen participated effectively in this symposium.

The symposium includes many activities, such as a visit to the Dammam Dome, a visit to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals with a training program, and more than 235 presentations presented in the symposium in 56 sessions.

Eng. Hamzah Al-Sharifi, who graduated from Petroleum Engineering Department a year ago, indicated that this participation is a good achievement for him. He expressed his appreciation to all symposium committee members, the sponsors, and the organizing partners for their support, suggestions, and guidance and for offering this opportunity to him.

He also thanked the faculty deanship and Prof. Abbas Al-Khudafi, Prof. Ghareb Hamada, Dr. Mohamed Bamaga, Dr. Abdulrahman Kadi, and Dr. Abdulraqib Al-Gathi for their support.
