General Administration of Libraries

Overview

The General Administration of Libraries was established by the University Rector Decree No. (63) in 2001. It is under the supervision the University Rector’s Deputy for Academic Affairs. It is responsible for the administration, organization, development and the direct technical supervision on libraries in order to manage them as a unified office structure.

Tasks:

    1. Making suggestions for public polices of libraries with regard to the establishment and organization of libraries, and supplying them with knowledge references.
    2. Qualifying the University libraries to become centers that are capable of operating, processing and producing scientific information, and make it accessible for all students inside or outside the University.
    3. Organizing the process of gifting and exchanging publications between the HU libraries and other scientific institutions inside and outside the country.
    4. Making rehabilitation and training plans inside and outside in order to qualify the specialized staff and assistants, and preparing them professionally to work as information specialists, managers of libraries and administrators of technical and service departments.
