Training Course in Palliative Care for Third and Fourth-Level Nursing Students

Training course held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, as part of an educational program to enhance nursing students’ understanding of palliative care. It targeted third and fourth-level students in the Nursing Faculty, presented by Researcher Prof. Lutfi Al-Sumani.

 

The course was supervised by:

– Dr. Abdullah Al-Hanshi, Dean of the Nursing Faculty.

– Dr. Hana Hussein Al-Sayyid.

The course was held in the Nursing Faculty Hall from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM, divided into sessions, following a previously prepared protocol.

The course was attended by:

– Dr. Abdullah Al-Hanshi, Dean of the Nursing Faculty.

– Dr. Yahya Al-Muallem, Deputy Dean of the Faculty.

– Dr. Maha bin Dahman.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Hanshi and Dr. Yahya Al-Muallem expressed their commitment to the student’s interests and appreciated the effort of Researcher Lutfi Al-Sumani.

During the course, Prof. Lutfi Al-Sumani provided a detailed overview of palliative care, its branches, fields, and specializations. He also emphasized its importance in the patient’s life and the ethical and legal aspects of palliative care.

Questionnaires were distributed to the students twice during the course before the course to assess the student’s knowledge of palliative care and after it to evaluate their feedback and comprehension of the material.

In conclusion, Prof. Lutfi Al-Sumani thanked the attending professors, students, and the Student Council for their contributions to the success of the course.
