Overview

CESWR is one of the research centers of HU that established by the president’s decision No. (11) of 1998, and based on its interest in serving the local community and the various economic activities in the governorate of Hadhramout and neighboring governorates, this center was established to conduct research and studies related to water, environment and natural resources. Studies also include water resources, and environmental impact assessment of projects and services in the field of environmental monitoring and awareness, environmental engineering designs and participating in the development of environmental legislation, conferences, seminars and training programs.

Mission

To contribute to solving the environmental problems and developing natural resources and rationalizing them through conducting studies and research, taking advantage of the University human and material resources, and developing relations with relevant institutions at the national, regional and international levels to serve the sustainable development and community service

Vision

 To be a distinguished center in research and environmental studies, conservation and development of natural resources and reduce their depletion according to the criteria of sustainable development

Objectives

  1. To conduct researches and studies to solve the problems of the environment and water resources.
  2. To development and rational use of the various natural resources.
  3. To increase the University contribution to the development of human knowledge of environmental and water resources issues at the national, regional and global levels and efforts to solve their problems.
  4. To strengthen the partnership between the University and governmental and non-governmental foundations and organizations for the protection, conservation and development of the environment and water resources.
  5. To contribute to the diagnosis of the problems of the national, regional and international environment and water resources, and find appropriate solutions to them.
  6. To contribute with the relevant authorities in the development of environmental education programs in public and academic education in line with the government’s directives.
  7. To promote and spread the environmental awareness in the society, and to activate and develop the environmental media by conducting lectures and activities in this regard.
  8. To cooperate with universities, research centers, the private sector, as well as national, regional and international institutions and organizations in areas of the interest.
  9. To build an information base for studies and researches on the environment and water resources.
  10. To provide technical and scientific consultations related to the Center specialties for bodies, committees and individuals.
  11. To improve and maintain the environmental situation in all facilities, departments, colleges, scientific centers and other institutions of the University.
