Fourth-level students at Nursing faculty organized an awareness initiative under the slogan “Care for your health is more important” on Thursday evening, the thirtieth of Rajab, the third of March 2022 in three different places (Child park- Al Salam Mall – Al Mukalla Mall). It was organized within the framework of community participation and initiatives by the students of Nursing faculty at Hadhramout University and under the supervision and support of the Deanship. It was about raising awareness among individuals about the most important chronic diseases, such as blood pressure and diabetes and how to prevent them. As well as got them acquainted with the good nutrition for the pregnant mother, and the types of fever prevalent in the community and how to prevent them. It also contained an aspect of health assessment such as taking vital signs, weight, height and assessing the ideal weight of the body as well as how to provide first aid in cases of wounds, fractures, drowning, fire and bleeding.
This student initiative also aims to activate the framework of the societal role of nursing students in increasing health awareness of risks and the importance of collective participation through interaction in the community. The initiative was supervised by Mr. Faraj Saddiq; the coordinator who stressed that the goal of this initiative, is to spread awareness in the community about primary health care, prevention and early detection of chronic diseases and fevers that are currently prevalent. He also explained that the faculty attaches great attention towards health education programs, believing in their importance.
In conclusion, He extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Dean of the faculty and the Secretary and for the supervisors and assistants who provided support without hesitation in order to complete this work successfully. In addition to all the teaching assistants who supervised the initiative as well as the guests and visitors for their presence and interaction. It was headed by
