Faculty Philosophy

_

Human beings learn throughout their lives; therefore, it is necessary to provide various forms of education methods that are suitable for age, occupation, work location, and residence.

The faculty of Open Education is one of the faculties of Hadhramout University that offers its educational services through a variety of programs offered to students. The faculty adopts two educational systems:

  1. First: Regular System

It is a formal education in which students are committed to studying and attending lectures like other students in other faculties. The difference is that admission to the faculty of Open Education is a parallel admission system.

In this type of education, the faculty provides two programs:

First: Bachelor Program

It is a program in which students enroll after completing high school according to the admission requirements announced by the University, and they graduate after four years with a bachelor’s degree in the specialization they chose and enrolled in. The faculty will open two majors in Mukalla, which are: (Accounting and Business Administration). In addition to this, the female education program includes two majors which are (Science Field Teacher and Geography/ History) in Al-Hajrain-Dawan Valley.

Second: Diploma (two years after graduation)

The program allows high school graduates who wish to study for only two years to enter the labor market after preparing them and providing them with the necessary knowledge and experience of the labor market through an academic program for only two years.

Third: Part-Time System (Distance Learning)

This type of education awards students several advantages, including that it accommodates students who have passed the high school examinations and have not been able to enter the specializations they wish or have succeeded in less than the required rates to enter the majors they want as the Open Education does not require a specific degree in the high school.

In addition, the learner can receive his education at any time and anywhere taking into account the dimension factor between the institution and the student. It is considered less expensive than other education systems, as the expenses are saved, because open education centers around the student instead of the educational institution, and it overcomes all forms of barriers to education, whether social, economic, educational, or others. Therefore, the term Open Education covers different forms of study at all levels that are not under the direct and continuous supervision of teachers in the lecture room, and it benefits from the planning, guidance, and organization of the University.
