Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Discusses Distance Learning Standards with Hadhramout University


The Ministerial committee in charge which evaluate the distance learning program met with the  delegation from Hadhramout University at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to  ascertain the adherence of Hadhramout University to the standards of the program and the implementation of those standards in reality.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Khalid Baslaim who confirmed the importance of the Continuous evaluation process of the academic work in public institutions which aims to enhance and develop it to keep abreast with the modern techniques.

During meeting, a number of topics related to the distance learning were discussed such as; the achievements and the technical aspects of the network of the faculty.

Furthermore, the committee appraised the achievements of the university in implementing the standards and requirements of the program in addition to providing the needs of the educational and academic services. At the same time the university delegation expressed their appreciation to the ministry and the committee for their cooperation in order to promote the educational process.

The meeting was attended by the committee members; Prof. Mohammed Abdulwasa; Adviser to the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Adnan Al-Saqaf; General Director of public Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry, Prof. Abdulbari Saeed; General Director of Authentication, Prof. Mustafa Al-Shabi; General Director of Legal Affairs and Dr. Lotfi Khanbri. In addition to Dr. Walid Al-Attas; Dean of the Open Education Faculty at Hadhramout University, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Bamatraf; Dean of Computers and IT Faculty, and Secretary-General of the Faculty Complex, Prof. Isam Ahmed Dakik.

The meeting concluded with the Ministry’s approval to grant the institutional license to the Open Education Faculty at Hadhramout University provided that the re-evaluation will take place by the end of the year 2023 with a commitment to complete the remaining evaluation requirements.
