Awareness symposium on Social Engineering and Digital Security.

Under the patronage of the Women’s College Deanship –  Mukalla, and in cooperation with  Al-Amal Women’s and Sociocultural Foundation. Al-Amal Center for Women and Child Rights held an awareness symposium entitled “Social Engineering and Digital Security” on Wednesday 11/4/2018.

The symposium, which was moderated by Mr.  Abdulraheem Bawazeer, was presented in points that included two main aspects. The first aspect was a theoretical aspect in which the presenter explained a number of concepts such as social engineering, the dark web, the concept of hacking and its mechanisms, and others.

He also mentioned the danger of random posting of personal life details on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The practical side of the symposium included general steps and tips for securing your computer, smartphone, and social media accounts, as well as creating an Apple and Google account. The targeted group for this symposium was a number of college students from different levels and departments, who expressed their interest and benefited from the information given in the symposium and their intention to apply it in their lives.
