Holding a Training Course in English Language Field Strategies

Holding a training course in the field of English language learning strategies for male and female students of the English Language Departments at the Mukalla Women’s and Arts Colleges in Hadhramout University.

Under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President, and within framework of the cooperation between Hadhramout University and the University of Aden, the training course Entitled “ Strategies for Learning English learning Vocabulary in Academic Setting”  was held today on Monday, 5/3/2018, at the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center. It was a training course for students of the English Language Departments at the Women’s and Arts colleges in the presence of the course Trainer, Prof. Jamal Mohammed Ahmed; a Linguistics Professor at the University of Aden, Dean of the Faculty of Languages.

During the course, Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-obthani; Vice President for Student Affairs, confirmed that holding such training courses is one of the basics of developing the capabilities and skills of male and female students in the field of their specialization. it is also important in linking the educational process to training, which affects the outcomes of university studies and its development and providing students with experiences.

On her part, Dr. Najat Ahmed Bousaba, Dean of Women’s College in Mukalla, said that this course aims to provide students with skills and scientific abilities, calling on them to benefit and apply all the skills they will receive in the course. She expressed her gratitude for the cooperation of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center in implementing this course.

Prof. Jamal Mohammed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Languages ​​at the University of Aden, indicated that the management and implementation of this course is important from two sides. The first is for training and rehabilitation cooperation between the faculties of the two corresponding universities, and the second aspect in the importance of holding this course is to provide qualified students in the field of their specializations .

Prof. Khalid Yeslam Belkhashar urged the male and female students of the two departments not to stop their ambitions to advance in their education level, but rather to improve this level by attending such training courses.

This course was attended by Dr. Najla Abdullah Ateeq; Head of the English Language Department at Women’s College, Dr. Ali Al-Husseini; Head of the English Department at the Arts faculty, and a number of staff and assistant members in the two colleges.

It is worth noting that this course targeted 42 male and female students who were introduced to the ”Breaking Down” strategy in learning and teaching new vocabulary and a deep understanding of their meanings. The attendees showed an effective participation in the discussion points.
