College of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology holds a reception for new students

Funded and sponsored by the Deanship of the College of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology; a ceremony for receiving first-level students was held this morning, Sunday, December 13, at the College of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology, and in partnership with the College Student Council. Outstanding students in the college, as well as the batches delegates were honored too in the Al-Wasail hall. The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the speech of the College Dean, Prof. Salem Rabie Bazar, in which he welcomed the first-level students, urging them to exert effort, vigor, perseverance and achieve the highest levels of excellence and success. The ceremony included several different and purposeful activities including the speech of the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali Muhammad Baabad, and the speech of the heads of the three scientific departments of the faculty. The head of the food technology department is Dr. Majid bin Muslim, the head of the marine biology department is Dr. Ahmed Eida bin Ali Al-Hajj, and the head of the environmental sciences department is Dr. Jamal Abu BakrAbbad. In his speech, the President of the Student Council, Abdullah Ba Awaidan, expressed the council’s keenness to activate the energies of students in the college and their effective participation. The top students of the past year and the batches delegates were honored, and the former student council president, Osama Mohamed Baakaba, was also honored in gratitude for his efforts in chairing the council.
