The Center for Environmental Studies and Water Resources at Hadhramout University participated on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the student conference “University Innovation Hackathon”, hosted at Nesto Hotel, as part of the Yemen Youth Climate Action Conference (YYCA2).

The Center’s participation aimed to support student activities and environmental initiatives in the field of climate action, serving as a practical translation of the partnership agreement between the Center and the youth-led initiative “SahSah”.

During the conference, the Center presented two pioneering scientific papers:

  • Paper 1: “Climate Governance and Enhancing Yemeni Youth Participation”, presented by Prof. Salem Rabee Bazara, former Dean of the College of Environmental Sciences and a member of the Center.

  • Paper 2: “Local Adaptation and Building Resilience Against Climate Disasters”, presented by Prof. Khalid Saleh Bawahidi, Director of the Center.

This participation represents one of the implementation activities of the partnership agreement signed between the Center for Environmental Studies and Water Resources and the SahSah Youth Initiative on Thursday, August 28, 2025, through which both parties committed to advancing environmental and climate action and empowering Yemeni youth in this vital field.
