Workshop on Legislation and Legal Regulations for the Family at Women’s College in Mukalla

Women’s College in Mukalla in cooperation and coordination with Al-Amal Center for Family Guidance and Counseling, at Al-Amal Women’s and Sociocultural Foundation organized a two-day workshop for the students of the Women’s and Arts College.
In the inaugural session of the workshop, Dr. Fathia Mohammed Bahishwan, Deputy Dean of the College, confirmed that the workshop aims to introduce students to family laws that include all family members and guarantee them to live in safety, as well as introducing them to the legislative labor laws and Yemeni regulations related to government and civil labor law and the rights of the child and the family. She noted that this is the first workshop held by the Women’s College in the framework of cooperation and partnership between the College and Al-Amal Women’s and Sociocultural Foundation in Mukalla.

A number of main topics were discussed in workshop which lasted for two days including the women rights between the balance of Sharia and law, the children of Yemen in Yemeni legislation and laws, the safety of the family in adhering to its rights, and the criminal responsibility in Yemeni criminal law presented by a number of specialists, academics and jurists.
The inaugural session of the workshop was attended by a number of staff members and their assistants and a large group of students from Women’s and Arts Colleges at Hadhramout University.
