Women’s College Organizes a Farewell Ceremony for Deaf Students in Art Education Department for the Year 2016-2017

Women’s College at Hadhramout University celebrated the graduation of the first batch of deaf students in Art Education Department for the academic year 2016-2017. It was supported by the Hadhramout University Presidency and the local authority in the governorate.
During the ceremony which began with some verses from Holy Quran recited by Sheikh Amr bin Habresh; the first Deputy of Hadhramout confirmed that the local authority pays great attention to the educational and academic aspects of Hadhramout University, especially the deaf people with special needs. He noted that the local authority will help them in granting their right to gain work opportunities and integrating them into society. He said that the local authority also pays great attention to improving services for citizens and stabilizing the lives of people in Hadhramout, Conveying the congratulations and blessings of the local authority in the governorate to Hadhramout University and the graduating students who were motivated by determination and excellence to achieve this scientific achievement that honors Hadhramout and Yemen in general.
From his part, Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President indicated that it is honor to the university that the first batch of disabled student has graduated. Their graduation highlights their challenge and insistence spirit. He added that the university started with this experience as the first university in Yemen to accept deaf students and grant them their rights from qualification and university education, pointing out that the university presidency will give them the opportunity to complete postgraduate studies for a master’s degree in the future. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the local authority in the governorate, the Benevolent Fund for Outstanding Students and the College Deanship for their support to achieve this scientific achievement that Hadhramout is proud of it.
From her part, Dr. Najat Ahmed Bousaba’a, Dean of Women’s College, said that the college had the first precedent in accepting and rehabilitating female students with special needs, noting that this occasion is a great achievement for Hadhramout University, which had a great role in granting this segment their rights of education. She expressed her thanks and blessings to the graduates, wishing them good luck and success in their future life and to take their right of work opportunities in the governorate, thanking the university presidency, the local authority and all the supporting parties for the success of the activities of this awareness ceremony
Moreover, a speech was delivered by the graduate students, delivered by student Maryam Bakouneh, in which she expressed their happiness for having graduated from Women’s College, Fine Arts Department, after the efforts of four years for them to study at the college, thanking everyone who contributed with them, supported them, and shared their joy in this first farewell ceremony for the deaf and dumb segment of the university. The ceremony included artistic and lyrical performances and folk dances which won the admiration and approval of the attendees at the ceremony.
After that, Sheikh Amr bin Habresh; the First Deputy of Hadhramout, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; President of Hadhramout University and Dr. Najat Ahmed Bousaba’a,; Dean of Women’s College, honored the contributors and supporters of this ceremony with commemorative shields. The graduate students were also honored and handed over shields, gifts and certificates of appreciation.
