Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, HU president expressed his good impression of the student initiatives at Hadhramout University, which clearly reflects the level of the social responsibility towards their colleges. He told HIMM team from Women’s College in Mukalla that this work plan revealed the noble and honest feeling of English Language Department students at 2nd level and their effort to fulfill this initiative to make a shade in the college for protection from the sun. He provided his support and guidance to the students.
”We are trying to leave a good impression in our college in order to develop and improve its reality” said Sumaia Bamatraf; the person in charge of the team activities. On her part, the Dean of Women’s College in Mukalla, Prof. Najat Bousaba’a described that the students are doing a wonderful work that reflects the harmony of the college deanship and the students to push the college forward. She thanked the sponsors and the participants for their provided efforts, praising the interaction of the university presidency with the college’s activities and calling for more giving, offering her special congratulations to all female members of Women’s College in Mukalla.
We point out that the HIMM team is a volunteer team that gathers twelve girls from Women ’College, ten form English language department and two from kindergarten department. All are second-level students who are brought together by a love of volunteering, a passion for change, and a desire from them to leave a good impact inside the college. The team met under the framework of the Bader University Competition, led by Ishraq Yaslam Baqs, after they performed simple individual actions before they were formed, including honoring the cleaning staff in the college and the initiative entitled ”the Child Smile” for the children in the hospital.
Within the framework of the Bader initiative, the team qualified for the final rounds and rehabilitated the praying room of the Women’s College as a first part of the initiative, and that is accomplishing in the second part, which is the endeavor to create a shade in the college. The team’s work is in continuation, God willing, inside and outside the university’s framework, and among the work that has been accomplished is the “sick bill”, which is a donation campaign to pay part of the patient’s treatment bills, and God willing, a fasting break during the blessed month of Ramadan.
